In this digital age, we don't receive much snail mail anymore.
I miss it!
Texts and emails are wonderful and speedy, but they are not
as enduring and lovely as a handwritten letter on pretty stationary
that you can hold and keep forever.
I think I will order some stationary with my initials on it and
start sending notes to everyone.

Agree. My MIL sends notes of encouragement and cards for any ol' reason. We all love receiving them.
ReplyDeleteI have tried very hard in the last couple of years to send more myself. Just went to Michael's the other day and bought some of the prettiest note cards. I wrote two notes that day. :)
Yup me to . I miss all the pretty stationary and the waiting for it to arrive . Now a days a satmp costs an arm and a leg not like the old days that's for sure ! Thanks for sharing , Have a good day !
ReplyDeleteI love getting mail. Just today I unexpectedly received 2 birthday cards from cousins. I also love sending cards & letters. I have an elderly aunt in Michigan who loves getting mail from me because I always decorate my letters & envelopes with pretty stamps & stickers. I used to work at a Hallmark store & over the course of 15 years of employment with them I amassed quite a collection of stationery & note cards. I doubt I will even be able to use it all in my lifetime. That's pretty bad, huh? If I had your address Susan I would love to send you a pretty little note now and then.
ReplyDeleteI agree! Nothing thrills me like getting the mail and there being a handwritten note in it! Something to read and hold onto.

I absolutely LOVE stationary!

I totally agree ! Handwritten letters are to be cherished!
ReplyDeleteHave you read John Kralik's book, 365 Thank Yous? It is quite inspiring. I read it shortly before embarking on the April challenge of writing a letter a day in honor of National Letter Writing Month. It was a wonderful experience for me. So calming and therapeutic. I haven't since written quite as many notes and letters as I did during that month, but I do continue to write them, and embellish envelopes as I used to do all of the time. Email me your address if you'd like to get snail mail. I'll write you!
ReplyDeleteI feel the same way, all we get in the mail are bills and advertising! It's so exciting, and makes one feel so good, to receive a handwritten letter or postcard in the mail. One thing though, I have the worse handwriting so you might not one from me!
