Welcome to my breakfast room. It is a little dark in here because this
room opens up to the covered porch in the back of the house, so please
excuse the dark photos.
For whatever reason, when I take the photo from this angle the room looks
brighter.
It is set up pretty much how I want it, but there still is more tweaking to do.
The walls are a bit dark for my taste, so I will be painting them a lighter shade
and will be painting the wainscoting white.
I have incorporated favorite prints of my own and some of my
Mom's on a gallery wall.
The weather cooled down yesterday and today is the first day it has
felt like October. I finally got in the mood to do a little fall decorating.
This breakfast room opens up to the kitchen and it's where we eat
most of our meals. Now that it has cooled off, I am hoping to
serve dinner outside on the patio. Up until now it's just been
way too hot for that.
I put up a valance over the kitchen sink this weekend and then
decided I didn't like it. I am still working on a solution for
that space. I want to add a bit of fabric without covering up
the big window which I love. I have started saving window
treatment ideas on a pinterest board. You can see what I
have been saving here.
So painting this space is on the list for sure as is adding beams
on the ceiling. Just need to find a good carpenter.
The Viking will be replacing the current counter top stove. And I can
hardly wait to replace the stainless sink with my fluted farmhouse one.
Little by little it is coming along. Of course now that the weather is
so beautiful I really want to spend time working in the yard.
Bentley has been in and out all morning and is starting to wonder
why I am not out there with him.

Oh I totally love it! Your breakfast room looks gorgeous, warm, cozy and inviting. I feel like walking on you for a cuppa coffee and bring you some bread pudding I have, lol.. I love that pretty hutch with everything in it and the lovely Fall centerpiece. You and Bentley sure are ready for Autumn and Fall weather too, as it seems hot over there still. Have a lovely week.

I am in love with your breakfast room!! I am really loving the hutch. That hutch is just to die for. Not only is it beautiful, you get all of that marvelous display area. I think you will love the wainscoting painted white. With the white wainscoting and a lighter paint on the walls it will brighten up this area considerably.
ReplyDeleteYour breakfast room looks so inviting. and of course I just swoon at all of the blue and white!
ReplyDelete- The Tablescaper
Are those the Magnolia table/chairs? I bought the table, but the black chairs did not suit my dining room so kept my white chairs and bought 4 French style chairs. Great minds think alike!
