My Azaleas Are Confused

I posted a picture of my blooming azaleas on Facebook recently.  I was surprised
to see them blooming at this time of the year.

Then a friend of mine commented that the azaleas in the Japanese
Garden in Houston are blooming too.  She told me that they are
confused because the weather has been so nice.

That's just fine with me.  They can stay confused as long as
they like!

Bentley are you wondering where your friend Toby is?
He's just a pup.  He may be taking a morning nap.
Toby is the cute little Jack Russell Terrier who lives
next door.  He and Bentley are now BFF's.

Big Texas Hugs,
Susan and Bentley

    1. But your freezing temps are a good excuse to wear sweaters.

  7. Maybe you have Encore Azaleas that bloom other times of the year, not just in the Spring.

    1. I don't know. I will have to find out. I need to find out more about gardening here on the Texas Gulf Coast. So different from Idaho.

    1. Thank you for the kind words about my yard. The yard is large ~ 1/2 acre in the city and lot's of plantings. I am enjoying working out there.

  9. Here in Maine, there are only a few blooms left trying to hang on as the weather gets colder. Soon I'll be back in Houston where I am very grateful for winter color.

  10. I've never heard of azelias being confused. Once in awhile our magnolias and forsythia get confused and bloom a second time or in late fall. We've had such a warm fall that I'm sure it would be confusing, but it is always nice to have more blooms at this time of year.
