A Little Cottage Panache

Just look at this cozy seating arrangement on the front lawn of
this sweet cottage.  The tree swing is hanging from the very
large branch of a big old Live Oak and is surrounded by
comfy Adirondacks complete with colorful parrot who is
coordinating with the cushions.  Now that's what I
call panache!

Now this cute place may not have a covered front porch but that does
not keep the owners from hanging out in their rockers and living
life large.

This cottage is saying ~ "Hey look at me!"  "I may be tiny, but don't
underestimate my wow factor."

And to me this one is saying  "I am a dear cottage that is so sweet and
aren't you just dying to come inside and see even more of my cuteness?"

Bentley ~ cottages are communicating with me now.  Do you
think mama has a problem???

  1. The second house is exactly how I painted out house in the l980's - I was a whole new idea then - country blue with burgundy door and shutters. It still is popular.

  2. At the first house, I thought y'all had done that at your house and I was seriously going to pick up the phone and order my plane tickets to Texas, girl we were going to sit out there with our sweet tea and talk talk talk!

  4. I think you are perhaps a bit nostalgic today thinking about your sweet cottage out west. Each one of these are sweet. Are they in Victoria?

  6. Are all the houses in your neighborhood that perfect? I mean it is the most perfectly charming neighborhood.

  7. To those of you who may be wondering ~ yes these sweet homes are in my neighborhood in between the big homes. I pass by these lovely spots each morning on my daily morning walk. To me, the best way to start to feel at home in a new neighborhood is to take a walk in the early morning and see each spot in it's freshness. A real joy and it's totally FREE!

  8. Hi Susan,

Love these little tours you have taken us on in the last few days! All the houses in your new neck of the woods are charming, but today, the blue house made me smile; it is such a sweetie of a cottage!

    Happy walking!

  10. "Small but Apt" said a sign that hung over my grandparents vacation cabin.I still remember it...Those cottages are adorable..
I wish I had that sign for my less than 900 square feet cottage..Might have to work on that..

  11. I love cottages and these are great! Up here in the Pacific Northwest we have more 'cabins' than 'cottages' . . .sadly!
