I spent a lot of time today looking at backyard potting sheds. There are certain
features I don't want to live without. I want a porch ~ check.
I want a Dutch door ~ check. I want more than one window ~ check.
And of course there must be flower boxes ~ well this one has them too.
The cottage is 8 x 12. It is made from western cedar which is a good
solid wood that is bug resistant. Y'all know how many bugs we have
flying and crawling around here in South Texas!
It's a kit which will please my hubby to no end because he does not
want to build one from scratch for me no matter how many ways I
find to say pretty please. Of course I will want to tweak it a bit.
I think I will need a window in the top portion of that Dutch door.
Oh and I will have to have someone assemble it for me. I do know
a great handyman and his helper in town, so my hubby will not
have to do it. A cupola and a weather vane would be nice too, but
one thing at a time.
So what do y'all think? Is this the potting shed for me???
Bentley thinks it's perfect as long as there are a basket full
of toys inside for him. But you know there will be.
Big Texas Hugs,
Susan and Bentley
I've actually been looking at these to live in.

I think so!! So cute, and you'd have your own little 'getaway'!!
ReplyDeleteI love it too. :-)
ReplyDeleteCan not wait to see it all done for you.
Happy New Year!
Adorable! Perfect size. Hope you checked mine out, I had them add the porch, open attic, they placed the windows where I wanted them. The dutch door is a great idea I went with a vintage one. Can't wait to see what you decide.
ReplyDeleteTotally cute and I know you will make it extra cute with your touch.
ReplyDeleteThis potting shed would be wonderful with your own little tweaks. Can't wait to see it ;-)
ReplyDeleteI think it's one pretty shed, and agree that one window in the door would make it perfect! Are you excited, Bentley???
ReplyDeleteYes! Yes! It's a darling shed and I know how beautiful you would make it. Kiss up to hubby and you'll get it!
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
Shelia :0
Oh, it's divine! Personally, I'd like a more pitched roof so there would be some "attic" space to store stuff in.
ReplyDeleteI think it's darling!
ReplyDeleteLOVE it!!! Just darling!!
ReplyDeleteThat is adorable!!! And what a great get away space for you !!! Yes, the insect activity would concern me too, and snakes......
ReplyDeleteLove it - I do agree about the window in the Dutch door!
ReplyDeleteAdorable! I would love to have this in MY backyard. Love the idea of a grownup playhouse!
ReplyDeleteI love it too! Tiny houses are the thing - and you may end up spending more time there than you'd think, so make it perfectly comfy!!!! With all the comforts (almost) of the "big" house!!!
ReplyDeleteGo for it! I'm sure you will love it!
ReplyDeleteHave you checked out http://www.derksenbuildings.com/buildings/gallery ? My sister is buying a shed from them, and I am getting a big metal barn. Their website doesn't have very many styles, but we saw one of the dealers in Giddings (off of 290 east of Austin) and they had tons of different shed/cabin/barn configurations for a very reasonable cost. I'm not affiliated in any way, just throwing it out for consideration. I *so* want a cute shed but really need a big honkin' barn for equipment and animal stuff :-) I look forward to seeing what you get !
