Fried Balsamic Apples and Onions

When David and I were first married we lived in the beautiful
horse country of Middleburg, Virginia.  David's job took him
down to the Williamsburg area quite a bit and we loved
visiting all the wonderful inns and taverns there.  That's where
I fell in love with fried apples which are simply sliced apples
sauteed in butter, sugar and a bit of cinnamon.  Delicious as a
side dish with pork, chicken and turkey.

I love to serve fried apples in the fall, but I started to wonder
if I could make a more savory version of this favorite so I
searched the internet and found this recipe for balsamic
fried apples and onions.

I made the recipe as listed, except that I added a pinch of
salt because salt always enhances flavor.  Not more than a pinch
however, you don't want it to be salty, just an enhancement.

It's an easy and quick side dish that will accompany your
fall menus.  Enjoy!

  4. I have made apples with balsamic vinegar and it's such a tasty treat. Especially good with pork roasts or chops. TFS
