Nesting

It's been so frigid for days now.  The kind of weather that
makes me feel like nesting.  I go out only when necessary and
come back home as soon as I can.  If I am not wearing leggings,
wool knee socks, boots and heavy sweaters, then I am in my
flannel pj's, big fluffy robe and shearling slippers.

My Mac died.  Well, it's not totally dead and could be fixed, but
I decided to put the money into a new one instead of fixing up the
old one.  I have been using David's laptop while waiting for my
new one.  I can hardly wait to have my own Mac again that I don't have
to share.  It's been hard to read blogs and comment and I feel so
out of the loop right now.  My life has become so intertwined with
yours through blogging that I feel as though I have been living on
a deserted island.  I should be fully connected again this weekend.
Joy!

I am thinking about painting an antique curio cabinet that is currently in
my studio.  I have not mentioned this idea to David yet.  I want to paint
it but I am pretty sure that he will not be too happy about it.  I love painted
furniture.  I don't want everything painted, but I don't want everything
stained either.  Maybe I'll make one of his favorite dinners before
I bring up the subject.  What is it about men and stained wood???

My third blog anniversary is coming up this weekend.  I think that it will be
time for a giveaway.  Don't you?  I'll be giving you the details, so
stay tuned.  Until then ... stay warm, stay cozy and be happy.

Happily joining ~

Bentley is nesting too.  He is quite content staying inside either
playing with his toys or cuddled up in a quilt.  Smart pup!

Hugs,
Susan and Bentley

  1. Susan - Congratulations on your anniversary!!! I don't know if I'll make it that long. LOL I know what you mean about wanting to paint a piece of furniture. Men just don't understand. I don't know how you handle all of that snow and cold weather day after day after day......

  3. Susan, I can commiserate. My laptop was in the shop a week and a half ago to get fixed. After a few days of trying to read blogs on my phone, my sister took pity on me and lent me her I-Pad. I got my computer back yesterday and couldn't wait to post to my blog. Unfortunately it isn't fixed so it has to go back tomorrow. I feel like I'm in withdrawal or something...J

I do so enjoy all that others are up to and what is going on in their neck of the woods its like being on a round trip from home lol ! I like my Pj's best but also like to bundle up and go for walks with my Miggs . Hope your new laptop arrives safe and sounds ! Have a good day !

  8. Congrats on your blogging anniversary! I've been nesting too with a little shopping thrown in! Had to shop for some things to tweak the nest. How exciting to be getting a new laptop and a Mac! I've heard great things about Mac computers. Bentley is a smart little pup. We've had some crazy weather here in Michigan 50 degrees for several days and then back down in the 20's. Even your nesting!
